Position Overview
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will support the General Manager in overseeing all front-of-house (FOH) operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, hospitality, and guest satisfaction. This role requires a passionate, hands-on leader with strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to inspire and guide a high-performing team. The AGM will play a key role in staff development, service execution, and day-to-day operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff members.
- Cultivate a warm and inviting atmosphere that exceeds guest expectations – filled with genuine hospitality.
- Ensure the restaurant is fully operational during operating hours, with a focus on genuine hospitality, efficiency, and service quality.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety within the restaurant.
- Address and resolve guest concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor guest feedback and use it to continuously improve the dining experience.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
- Ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards before being served to guests.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring that supplies are ordered, received, and stored properly.
- Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and best practices, continuously striving to elevate the experience offered by the restaurant.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Assistant General Manager in a high-end, fine dining establishment or similar. Opening experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Exceptional sense of genuine hospitality and how to create a warm and welcoming environment for employees and guests.
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage service, wine, and fine dining etiquette.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.
- High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to frequently lift/move 50 lbs.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
