Position: Lead Bartender

Location: The Plaza, Coral Gables, FL

Compensation: Hourly plus service charge and tips.

 

Position Overview:

MIKA is seeking experienced and polished Lead Bartender to provide world-class service in a refined and sophisticated dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a deep knowledge of food and beverage, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team in a high-end restaurant setting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to guests in accordance with fine dining standards.
  • Present menus, answer questions, and offer expert advice on food and wine pairings.
  • Craft beverages for both the dining room and bar, following precise recipes and standards.
  • Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and fully stocked with liquor, wine, and supplies.
  • Take orders accurately, ensuring guest preferences and dietary restrictions are accommodated.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and with precision, maintaining a polished and professional demeanor.
  • Maintain knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
  • Upsell food, wine, and special menu items to enhance the dining experience at the bar.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless timing and service of dishes.
  • Handle guest concerns and special requests with grace and professionalism.
  • Process payments, including handling cash, credit cards, and billing systems accurately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with restaurant policies and local regulations.
  • Adhere to all restaurant policies and standard operating procedures.
 

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as a bartender in a fine dining restaurant
  • Passion/knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails (mixology certification is a plus)
  • Previous experience as a Bartender in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.  
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
 

Working Conditions:

  • Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time including on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
  • Ability to work long days when required by business demands.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently lift heavy items, including trays, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
