Server
The Server at MIKA is responsible for delivering an exceptional, polished, and personalized dining experience that reflects MIKA’s standards of hospitality. The Server is knowledgeable about the menu, wine, cocktails, and service standards and confidently guides guests through their experience from greeting to farewell.

Essential Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Welcome and engage guests with warmth, confidence, and professionalism.
- Create a personalized experience by anticipating guest needs and preferences.
- Maintain a polished, attentive, and discreet presence throughout service.
- Establish genuine rapport with guests while respecting their privacy and dining experience.
- Recognize and appropriately service VIPs, regular guests, and special occasions.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, questions, and concerns.
- Resolve service issues with ownership and immediately involve management when appropriate.
- Maintain awareness of the entire table throughout the dining experience.
Food & Beverage Knowledge
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of MIKA’s food and beverage menus.
- Understand ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, dietary considerations, and menu modifications.
- Confidently explain dishes and make thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Maintain working knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Be able to describe and recommend wines and cocktails appropriately.
- Stay current on menu changes, daily specials, 86'd items, and promotions.
- Participate in tastings and training to continuously improve product knowledge.
Service Standards
- Follow MIKA’s service sequence and established standards consistently.
- Accurately take and enter orders into the POS system.
- Ensure food and beverages are delivered accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen, bar, runners, server assistants, hosts, and management.
- Monitor table pacing and coordinate courses appropriately.
- Ensure tables are properly maintained, cleared, reset, and ready for the next course.
- Present checks accurately and process payments professionally.
- Thank guests sincerely and ensure a proper farewell.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with the entire Front of House and Back of House teams.
- Support fellow servers and assist other team members when needed.
- Communicate guest needs, allergies, special occasions, and service concerns clearly.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude during high-volume service.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings, lineup, tastings, and training.
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and hospitality.
Professional Standards
- Arrive on time and fully prepared for every scheduled shift.
- Report to work in complete, clean, and properly maintained uniform.
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene and professional grooming.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and food safety regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding guests, VIPs, business operations, and internal matters.
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times while on property.
- Follow all MIKA and management procedures regarding attendance, communication, and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a server in an upscale, fine dining, or high-volume restaurant preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and hospitality service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to confidently interact with sophisticated and diverse clientele.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other scheduled shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely carry trays and service items.
- POS experience preferred.
- Wine certification or formal beverage training is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry trays, plates, glassware, and other service items.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and move throughout the restaurant.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-energy restaurant environment.
