Job Summary
Mika is seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team in Coral Gables. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment. Line Cooks at Mika play a key role in executing our menu with consistency, creativity, and respect for ingredients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and execute menu items according to Mika’s recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
Set up and stock assigned stations with necessary supplies and ingredients
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of workstations at all times
Follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
Communicate effectively with chefs and fellow kitchen staff during service
Assist with prep work, including chopping, portioning, and basic cooking tasks
Monitor food quality and freshness, minimizing waste
Support other stations and kitchen duties as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Previous line cook experience preferred (high-volume or upscale dining a plus)
Strong knife skills and basic cooking techniques
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
Willingness to learn and take direction from kitchen leadership
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
